Will insurance cover the treatment of varicose veins?
Most insurance companies will cover the treatment of varicose veins. Most require a trial period of non-operative treatment such as support stockings. Dr. Locastro and his staff at the Total Vein Treatment Center can discuss your particular insurance company’s policy.
Will I continue to develop varicose veins later in life?
For most people the recurrence rate after laser treatment of varicose veins is about 10%.
How much time must I take off after treatment of my varicose veins?
After the laser procedure most people resume normal activity in 2 or 3 days.
I’ve already had a stripping of my veins and they all came back – can Dr. Locastro help me?
Yes – most recurrences are due to failure to treat the underlying cause of the varicose veins – Dr. Locastro will identify these areas and treat them accordingly.
Are spider vein treatments covered by insurance?
Generally spider vein treatments are not covered by insurance. Dr. Locastro will evaluate these patients and decide if they are purely spider veins or a mixture of varicose veins and spider veins. All costs will be discussed up front with the patient so there are no surprises.accordingly.
